The story
In the Shattered Age, after the Usurper took the throne by deceit and set out to annihilate the old order, one knight remained. Sir Ardent Carroway knelt beside the grave of a farmer who had died taking an arrow meant for him, and then rose to rally the last of the Silver Circle's allies: farmers with rusted tools, old soldiers, children too young to understand.
At the Battle of the Iron Wastes they held a ruined village against wave after wave. Ardent fought until his body could no longer move and still did not fall. When the Usurper's decimated forces withdrew, he lay among the dead, his hand on Verdure, his eyes open on the sunrise.
Whether he died on that field is a matter of legend. What is certain is that the flame of the Silver Circle did not go out, and that the pact Eadric later swore at Dawn's Hollow bears the same name.
Appearance
A knight in battered silver armor dulled by years of war, his tabard tattered and bloodstained but still bearing the emblem of the Silver Circle. An older man, grey and weathered, with the bearing of a commander.
Signature
Verdure, the last relic of the Silver Circle, a sword that flares with light in the gravest moments.
