Eadric of Blackmere
The last of the Concordium, founder of the Society, and the sword the dragons of Albion learned to fear.
Archetype
The wounded hero who keeps walking. Every trial he faces is a mirror; every dragon wears the face of a failure he cannot put down.
Duty before self. Loyal past the point of reason, guilt-driven, quietly stubborn, and at his best when someone else needs protecting.
The story
Eadric of Blackmere is the spine of Albion's story. He was a boy when raiders under dragon banners burned his village, and a young knight when Brother Cadwyn taught him that a true Slayer does not deny his failures but carries them. He rose through the Concordium, the old order of dragon slayers, and outlived it: when the Concordium fell, he was its last known survivor.
He is not a hero because he is fearless. He crosses the Bridge of Doubts, the Gate of Shadows and the Cavern of Embers with his fear intact, and wins because he refuses to let it steer. His defining wound is the first Siege of Ravenspire, where he ordered the retreat that saved the survivors and cost him Kael and Ysella. Every dragon he faces afterward finds that wound and presses on it.
In the hills of Albion he gathered a handful of broken fighters and founded The Dragon Slayers Society with a single oath: the greatest dragons are the ones within, and no one faces them alone. He has since slain Karnyx, Vaelthrax and Zorynthal, severed the Chains of Greed, united the clans of the north, and been named a Keeper by the Eternal Flame. He ends the war not as a man who slays dragons, but as one who teaches others how.
Appearance
Broad-shouldered and battle-hardened, in his late forties. Grizzled dark hair streaked with grey, a short rough beard, and a face lined by years of war, with a deep old scar across one cheek and brow. He wears dented, scratched silver plate over dark mail and worn leather, a coiled-dragon Sigil engraved on the breastplate, and a mud-streaked charcoal cloak. The Sigil is branded into his right forearm; blue Oathstone runes glow faintly along his left.
Signature
Vigilance, a silver sword etched with ancient runes that glows when the darkness is near. He carries more relics than any man alive: the Heartfire burns in his chest, the Sigil of Truth is fused into it, the Lyrican Harp rides on his back, and the Shard of Varn waits in his keeping.

Words
The dragon isn't just something we fight. It's something we become if we let it.
Not every dragon can be slain, Loric. Some must be carried.
I am no hero. I am just a man. But a man can still make a difference.
